I realize it's been a long time since I've been here, you see I've been consumed with life, I'm sure you get it!
We've been a busy family of 5. The kids went back to school last week and it's been go, go, go. I feel like I have no time to get anything done but what actually needs to get done. For example, grocery shopping, making breakfasts, lunches and dinners, picking up, dropping off, meeting so and so here, volunteering at school, homework and working. Oh, and the occasional house chore like sweeping, dishes and laundry (not putting the laundry away since there are 4 baskets of clean laundry in our laundry room).
On to the fun stuff. The kids have been enjoying our backyard pond and by skating almost daily. We put Bennett into skating lessons this fall and he wasn't very good, but since skating on the pond he has gotten really quite good, well better anyway. He's getting fast and his feet are getting used to the skates. This was the first year the girls really got on skates and I can't believe how quickly they caught on. They are pretty good skaters, fast and mostly graceful. I just love how they are spending their evenings skating with neighborhood friends. That's the stuff great memories are made of.
Annika has been sewing, she got some sewing kits for Christmas and she has just really embraced it. I love that she is able to do this on her own and take complete ownership of it all. She is growing up too fast and it makes me kind of sad :)
The kids got some new Wii games for Christmas so it's renewed our love of the game system. We haven't played it in a very long time but we've been using it more and having fun with it. Lego Batman is a huge hit, everyone in the house loves it. We also love Just Dance 2 and got to test out Just Dance Kids with some friends last week.
I took on the Volunteer Coordinator position at school for next year, so I've been busy immersing myself in learning the ropes and taking on more roles at school. One of them is to spearhead several committees for the Spring Gala Fundraiser this spring. This has been preoccupying my time and I'm really excited about the future at the school. If I can't homeschool, I will be heavily involved and I have confidence that even when all 3 are in school, I will find plenty to do to feel like a productive part of this family.
So that is us right now. I need some motivation to blog more. Maybe some comments and outside jeering will help? HAHA! Enough fishing for now. Have a great night.

I love that you guys have a pond in your backyard and have been using it for skating!! I have great memories of ice skating as a kid. That is awesome that Anni is learning how to sew ;)
